Southeast University：Richard Register’s 3rd Stop of Speaking Tour On Ecocity

Richard Register, internationally renowned ecologist and Board President of Ecocity Builders, lectures on "Generous City, City of the Future." in the four famous universities of Tianjin, Tsinghua, Southeast and Tongji.

On 3rd April, Richard Register came to Qiu Shi Tang of Southeast University, his 3rd stop. 

He explained in details the key features of ecocities and enumerated the ecological engineering approach & demonstration, related case researches and marketization practice, then showed lots of his sketches of ecocity models. His speech was very welcomed and appreciated by both the teachers & students of Southeast University, and related technical staff of Nanjing Planning Bureau. The two sides expect to strengthen cooperation on ecocity construction.

After this lecture, Richard Register presented his book “Ecocities: Rebuilding Cities in Balance with Nature” to the Architecture Department of Southeast University.

Richard Register, pioneer of internationally modern ecocity drive, coined the word “Ecocity” in 1979 and then published many books on ecocity. In his book“Ecocities: Rebuilding Cities in Balance with Nature”, he advocated three standards for ecocity: life, beauty and fairness.

He has been focusing on ecocity construction in China and the formulation of related standards on ecological and green buildings. Recently, Richard Register has been invited to the 10th IGEBC and delivered a keynote speech on the topic of “Ecocities: Rebuilding Cities in Balance with Nature”. Then he will give a tour speaking in the four famous universities Tianjin, Tsinghua, Southeast and Tongji.
