The 24th Cross-Strait Urban Development Seminar Successfully Held at Tianjin University

On September 26th, the 24th Cross-Strait Urban Development Seminar was successfully held at Tianjin University. 

The seminar was sponsored by Chinese Society for Urban Studies, Tianjin University and Taiwan Society for Urban Planning; organized by Tianjin University; guided by Tianjin Planning Bureau; and co-sponsored by Tianjin Urban Planning & Design Institute, Tianjin C&P Architecture Design Company Ltd., Tianjin Tianyou Architecture Design Company Ltd., Tianjin University Research Institute of Architectural Design & Urban Planning, and Tianjin Engineering Research Center of Urban Eco-Renewal Technology.

Themed with “Resilient City, Sustainable Development”, the seminar lasted a day. Domain professors, experts and scholars across the strait participated in the activity and discussed how to create an urban development mode in which the cities should have self-adjustment, self-recovery and self-development abilities. The participants also conducted in-depth discussions around three topics: “Adjustment to Climatic Changes & Coastal City Development”, “Resilient City & Disaster Management” and “City Renewal & Culture Protection”.

C&P will take the seminar as an opportunity. We will pay constant attention to research on urban development, support construction of resilient cities and protect our urban culture for a better and sustainable urban home.
